This is the prelude to the “Foil Trompe Loeil” video that I now have available at my online video store.
I completed and posted this video to help people understand how the process works. The finished video was completed by yours truly and I would like to get any feedback, to find out what needs improving or added.
I am excited about this instructional because after showing this sample only 2 days after completion I sold this finish or a variation of it 3 times.
These instructional DVD’s are now available as well …..Below is the finished sample from the DVD that you will learn to complete.
How To Faux Video
“How To Faux Video”,
The 90 minute DVD will get you on your way to learning this step by step technique with all the information needed for products, tools, and brushes and where to get them.
I know its been a couple of weeks since I been here but I have been so busy with getting my new online store up at http://www.artfauxworld.com/ and have finally got a few things up for sale. Its coming along slowly because I am only a one man show at this point , but I have learned so much in regards to putting this together and feel that it has been extremely beneficial journey for me. Online is the future of everything.
So now I am sitting here listening to a little Bob Dylan and got to thinking…
Man, I have been neglecting my REAL work (Faux Painting) and need to get back to it. So here I am. With the world in the state it’s in there couldn’t be a more appropriate song for them to play on my XM Radio than Bob Dylan’s.
“And you know somethins happening, but you just don’t know what it is …..Do you Mr. Jones?”
Truth is I’m feeling a little melancholy about the whole state of the union so when I get to that point I MUST get back to my work. Art is what will make you happy and I encourage everyone to just experience it, taste it, and if you don’t know how to paint then learn. Learning is the key to growing as a person. I am going to create a Trompe Loeil piece that I have been putting off for quite some time and again I will be referring to one of my favorite artist Michel Nadai who so inspired me with the recent publication that he has just released called
Art & Techniques
de la
Peinture Decorative
ISBN978-2-85101-118-3
This is precisely where my rendition below came from, If you all want to learn from a master I would suggest purchasing this book, of course my piece is rough compared to Michel’s work, but it’s like anything else.
First you do a study, a Marquette, before the final piece is created and that’s when a true art piece is born. I am only at the first stage with this one and will be doing a final version of it soon. Here is the progress so far.
I get a lot of my inspiration from many different artists from around the world and only wish I could meet the many more that I admire because with each one that I meet I improve that much more. The power of the internet has such a huge impact on all artists no matter what their techniques are because it just has brought so many more of us in contact. Together we can connect and actually learn and grow from each other. I want to link and learn from everyone!
I will have alot of different links in the future to others that I think are phenominal artists not only in decorative painting but in many other styles as well. I will be doing many eBooks, video and also some teaching in the near future. Getting my feet planted on the ground is in my future because I will no longer be able to climb soon and I feel after 30 years I dont need to be doing it much longer anyway, so the plans for my studio are still underway and even though the economy is in the state its in I refuse to be part of any recession! I’m online and the world of opportunity is unlimited here. At least this Internet Economist guy thinks so.
